If Me and My Friends Were Rappers, Who Would We Be?

For some reason, while I was listening to Cam'ron's new album Crime Pays, I started to think about what rappers me and my best friends would resemble. The list of the many rappers I know of started to compile in my head, and it didnt take me that long to start putting my friends in the shoes of these rappers. Due to the idiodic way that this website set up, I will have to split the six profiles up into different posts. It's still worth it because I'm pretty sure people will be laughing about this. The subjects as you may or may not know are Dart, Jerry, Caleb, Danny, Steve, and Me hahahha. These rappers were picked because of personality that is portrayed through media, song topics, and their image. Let's GO....

p.s. I did all these at random as they came to me to do. It just comes out like its in order on here =[

FRANCIS AKA LUPE FIASCO/KID CUDI

Nerdy, Dorky, Eccentric, Loner, Funny(at times)ooooh and you thought I was gonna say Kanye huuuuuh?

Nope. Although Lupe seems like a lovable, likable, fun, weird guy, sometimes he comes off as on asshole and a little snobbish(certain interviews). I guess that could be me in a nut shell, but it aint. Like Lupe, I like to critique black stereotypes, I can be very dark at times, and I wear glasses haha. I think he and I have a really big love for like anime, martial arts, Star Wars type of things so...
Ah, and then there is my other kind of loner, slightly misunderstood but very goofy and silly side represented by Kid Cudi. If you seen the video for Buggin Out 09 you maaay think of me when you see Cudi Buggin out....Or at least I did haha. Cudi kind of portrays himself as a guy to himself who likes to reach beyond what is given to him which I believe I like to do at times. =] Lupe and Cudi = Francis haha

DANNY AKA THE NOTORIOUS B.IG./ DJ EXILE

Whenever, I MEAN WHENEVER "Big Poppa" by Biggie comes on at a party, you have no reason not to think of Danny instantly. Why? Because like Big, Danny has that smooth talking, sarcasm that can get to girls better than some other people who try the sarcastic rout. He's a funny fucking guy, and thats what people used to say about how Big was. Of course Danny is not bad looking like Mr. Wallace haha. And then there is the chilled out, playful, down to earth like persona of DJ Exile.(produced or Below the Heavens by Blu. He also raps) If you ever catch an interview with the guy he just seems like a dude you'd want to kick it with. Danny is exactly the same. So my boy is Big Poppa and Exile =]

JERRY AKA CAM'RON/BLU

We all know that Jerry's a ladies man hahaha and if you listen to Cam, you know he's one too(or seems like it) Much like Cam, Jerry has a very care free attitude. He doesnt really trip off things, when me tries to make a point its almost like a joke, and is a NO HOMO enthusiast hahaha. And cocky also, but thats starting to fade. Now Jerry's other side or rapper he syncs with is Blu. Jerry's a musician and has a certain aura of artistry to him, much like Blu. Plus they're both tall and light skinned with curly hair haha, but thats more like the last thing you should think about. Overall, the boy is a laid back, smooth talking, musician. If thats not Cam and Blu, I dont know what is.

STEVE AKA SNOOP DOGG

This was indeed the hardest one, but after much thought(more than anyone elses) I felt like Snoop matched more than anyone. Snoop is Chill. Steve is chill. Both talk with a light heartedness and if you really listen to Steve rap, sometimes he raps like Snoop. Both are tall and lanky and you can always catch Snoop dancing like an old man just like when me and Steve are getting down. Oh, and they both say dog a lot after their sentences hahah. When I was telling Charmaine about it she said "I can totally see Steve in the Drop it Like It's Hot Video as Snoop" I guess I would be Pharrell? Haha who knows. But Yes, Steve is Snoop. =]

CALEB AKA ASHER ROTH

When I heard Asher say "Who gives a fuck If i look like I just woke up?" my immediate thought was of Caleb. Like Asher, Caleb is that dude who's adventurous, always down for whatever, clowning, and that guy you'd want to sit down with for a conversation or two. The only thing thats different is that Caleb doesnt prefer the Trees which is always fine, because he doesnt judge you for it. Honestly, if I saw Caleb rapping on stage, dude would be in a shirt and shorts, hair crazy and shit just rocking the mic, just like Asher. For me, this one was a no brainer although Blu and Murs was kind of pinching my mind. But Blu is better off on somebody else.... heeeeheee. OH and not to mention, people think both Asher and Caleb are Jewish hahaha. They're not.

DART AKA RICK ROSS

Much like Mr. Ross, Dart is a paper chaser. Nothing wrong with it all. Dart has always had "BOSS" mentality and has never really liked working for people. He wants to have his own shit when he's older. The guy definitely has a taste for the very fine things in life and why not? Besides, Jerry and Danny, I love shopping with Dart. We're kind of like each other's fashion consultants in a way haha. Both are big black guys(Rick Ross is more fat than anything and Dart is built) who can dress nice, and who are charming when it comes to the females. Plus both are actual chill individuals who love being relaxed when its time to relax and like gettin that paper haha. I almost with with Jay-Z on this one but I felt like Ross was a little more accurate. Haha, Caleb, you called it!

Give It To Me Right: Melanie Fiona

Speechless....

Melanie Fiona - Give It To Me Right

And I Thought You Were Special

When I started this blog, It was hard as shit to get people to take time out read it and give feedback. Then I took Anna's advice about getting an email list(which I didn't even know about) and handpicked 10 people who I felt would read, comment, tell other people about it, and above all else, VISIT THE BLOG. And I remember saying to the people who I sent the invitation/message to about giving me their email for the list:if you don't want to be on the list don't give me your email. I explained that I felt like these people would support me and the blog and they're important to me. And to be honest, I'm thinking now that some folks just gave me their emails just to give it. Yes, Yes, Yes, I know people are busy! I don't even think I ask that much of my own friends to support it. My logic is, If you can spend time on Facebook, You Tube, or whatever, you could at least glance over the blog if not comment or read whats on here. Its kinda bad when you ask me about something and I have to say "I already talked about that on the blog" and you go "Oh my bad, I'll read it more". Or "My email is so convenient." "So you've never even seen the blog?"
"No" WTF IS THAT? The point of the email list was for you to get notified of posts and go look at them, maybe comment. I'm assuming people like what I'm doing on here because no one is really telling me to change anything or offering any suggestions which I am soooo open to. So if you don't like what I'm posting or if you're not interested, don't waste space on my email list when I could be giving it to people that actually read it. And I know who reads and who doesn't. Its kind of obvious by now. And I have taken those people off the email list already. If you have a problem, talk to me personally.

I still don't think most of you realize how important this blog is to me. I'm trying to entertain, inform, and make you think on here. Added with my the want to give my opinion and reach more people, those are the reasons why I started the blog. You may not think its a big deal to be on an email list or you make think this blog aint shit. If you do think like that, bye bye. Its sad that I have beg people I'm cool with to show some life on here. I guess I need to get famous or something so people could give a damn. And if you're thinking "If you talk about everything on the blog, what am I going to talk to you about in real life?" Please don't, because I have much to talk about in real life than on here and vice versa. And a conversation about something on here could be good for real life and vice versa. Yes, I will continue to inform about music and films and shit I think you dont know about. Yes, I will try to actually write more of my opinion on here, probably show some of my creative writing on here. Like I said, any suggestions, anything you want me to do less or or more of let me know.

MPW: TANYA MORGAN

There was a time in hip hop where if ?uestlove(drummer for The Roots)was backing an act, it would be in your best musical interest to go listen to them i.e. Nouveau Riche and Tanya Morgan and others. I usually always end up liking who he's backing, I mean its ?uesto, he's a smart guy.

Tanya Morgan was probably the last very good rap trio when they first came out. They were right on the heels of Little Brother and some ways they were better and other ways they were worse. They had/have interesting lyrics, dope beats, and humanistic feel to them. Their first album Moonlighting was ok. It had really good themes and ideas but the songs weren't all that great. I kinda put them on my musical mind shelf for a minute but they always had a place in my heart. And now its time for the return of Tanya Morgan:still the last best rap trio. I just sat here and listened to their second album Brooklynati on Myspace(in between going to Hallmark and Coldstone and watching the Lakers get their ass whooped) and its an obvious improvement from their last album. I'm almost willing to say it'll probably be one of the best hip hop albums of the year. MHM, i like it that much. Enjoi...

p.s. If you're a hip hop head, which i know at least half of you reading are not(no offense, i know who reads and who doesnt), you should be fucking going crazy when you hear this song on this video. I know i was.
