The New Tupac

*SIGH* This post was inspired by the new cover of Rolling Stone magazine. It has Lil Wayne on the cover and they called him "Rap's Genius". And when I saw it, the first thing I said to myself was "He's the new Tupac". He's glorified, followed, and overrated. Now, being overrated means that the person is getting way more praise than they really should be getting. Its not saying, they suck. Wayne as a rapper doesnt suck. He's decent. But in no way shape or form is he the best alive. I feel the same way about Tupac. Now, Pac was a better emcee than Wayne and he had waaay more to say, but I will never call him the greatest rapper of all time.

I wouldn't have a problem with Wayne's music if it wasn't for White America. I'm not saying that to be racist. But once White people got on the hype of Wayne, it went to hell. All of a sudden, he's fucking everywhere. He's on the tips of everyone's tongues, on everyone's mind, in everyone's stereos. And what pisses me off more than all the hype, the dick riding, all the "omg he's sooo sexy and he's a bad ass"(all of a sudden) is that most people, actually, most if not all white people can not tell you why they really think Wayne is the best. "He calls himself a Martian" hahahha. Dont you know how many black men call themselves martians???? I called myself a Martian in High School because I felt like I was different from everyone else. You will here rappers call themselves Martians aaaaalll the damn time. How is Wayne tight? "I dunno, he just is. He's just sooo cool". Ok, you didnt tell me anything by that statement. You cant explain why you like him? You just like him? You as a suburban person(of any race) can not relate to a nigga from the hood. Maybe on a song or two, but not entirely everything. I dont ever say I relate to niggas from the hood. Although I was raised in a part of Sacramento that most ppl would claim to be the hood, I still cant relate because I wasnt broke and poor(not shitting on anyone who is)

Wayne is just a followin ass nigga like most niggas now-a-days. Oh all of sudden I like rock music. I want to dress like ppl I used to diss and call Gay. Wayne just gives these mafuckas out here an excuse to not be themselves even if they feel they are. Don't try to act hard wearing red, green, and purple ass jeans. Just dont. Because if you were in the hood, or a barbershop, you wouldnt walk up in there dressed how you're dressed. 1. because they'd clown. 2. because you wouldnt have the balls too 3. You prolly dont have anymore balls if you wearin jeans that are as tight as leggings on a girl. and then sag them. wtf.
Maybe you're thinking, "these ppl could just be late" NO. not the case. You know why? because there was a period in 06 when it became cool to dress like a nerd. It became cool to black folk to like rock music(they played on the radio) And most of em went too it. When before, they would clown folks like me for listening to it. So if I sound bitter, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, but I'm bout tired of people treating Wayne like he is God. Like he cant do anything wrong, like he makes incredible music. Tired of it.

p.s. You will never see me with an Issue of Rolling Stone in my hand ever since they said Tha Carter 3 was the best album 2008.....1st or 2nd i think. either way. Fuck them.

and to think I wanted to work for them.......SIIIIKE

MPW: VAMPIRE WEEKEND

Calling Caleb

Me: Aye, have you ever heard of a band called Vampire Weekend? I think you'd like them

Caleb: Vampire Weekend? What is that? Some Twilight Shit?

Me: hahahahha nah dog, its a band. I've been listening to them for a minute, Jerry told me about them. I think you'd like them.

Caleb: Oh all right, I'll have to listen the next time I see you. I thought that was some kind of convention for Twilight. I was gonna be like WTF?

Me: hahah heeelll nah

In 2008's Jae B Awards soon to be changed to the COOKIE MONSTER AWARDS
I had a top ten list of albums for that year and Vampire Weekend's self titled album was number 3. Hmmmm makes you wonder why I havent talked about them yet. Shit I was wondering too. But here they are.

p.s. Gio, they are not overrated.

THROWBACK TRACK: THE RAIN

"Beep Beep, who got the keys to my jeep? vrooooom". As soon as you say that, the next person knows exactly what you're talking about. Now, a certain someone was hating on last weeks throwback track: No Diggity and I couldn't understand why. That was a popular ass song when we were kids. And Missy Elliot's The Rain is prolly way more popular. I kind of posted this with out my contributor's knowledge(love you Rocky) but I had to. =]If you didnt like this song when you were younger.....woooooow

The Plans for Freedom

I guess I should say that I am getting back to my first love in the arts:Writing
I'm saying this because If you happen to talk to me after reading this, and wondered what I'm up to, this is it...

the short story is currently untitled.

I started it in my Psychology class but nothing in that class has anything to do with the story.

all I can say is that I have never written about this before and its inspired by People's feelings towards me, my feelings towards people, my feelings towards myself and Kid Cudi.

peace.
