MPW: BON IVER

Don't you just hate it when you hear of music artist and you meant to listen to them, but you dont for hella long, and then when you finally take time to listen to them, you feel real dumb for not paying attention sooner? Thats basically what happened with me and this guy Bon Iver. And I guess it was my skepticism about white dudes with guitars with no other band mates(showing) that kept me away, but boy was I missing out. Love his voice, love his songs, love the meanings of his songs, love hearing about how he made his album last year For Emma, For Everago. Dude is ill. I hope he makes another dope album.

Graphic Artist-Phil Lumbang

I guess since my....junior or senior year, when I first found out about the Hundreds, I have been looking at their blog basically everyday. And lately they have been having some really interesting individuals on their site. I came across Phil Lumbang. The first picture of him was a wide shot of him in his kitchen wearing the Clone warriors helmet from Star Wars. Instantly, I had to see what he was about. Turns out, he's a dope, and underrated graphic artist and what do ya know? his portraits are of my favorite animal.... the Bear. =] Here's a vid of him putting in work. His overall message is great....

Run This Town-Jay-z Rihanna Kanye West

Even tho I'm not to excited for the Blueprint 3(as I was a couple of weeks ago) I fucking love this song, and the video......come on. If you know me, you KNOW I like this video. The Dark theme, the black, the shot where all 3 of them are walking down the tunnel in black with that gritty, grimy lighting. yeah i fucking love this video. haha

I am jealous of YE and that cloth that is so perfectly tied around his neck. He can just pull if over his face and it looks fucking evil but sick at the same time.

The Importance of Lyrics w/ Lupe Fiasco

Honestly, who's a better person in hip hop to ask this question to then Lupe?
Even if you asked Elzhi or Jay Elec or Mos or Nas, or Blu or Jay or Kanye or who ever else is GOOD AND TRUE lyricist, they probably couldn't articulate the response as good as Lupe. Another reason why he's one of my heroes. Thank God they didnt ask like Drake or Wayne or T.I.

Are You MAD???

I haven't been this crazy over a tv show since Grey's Anatomy first came on, and I was there for the first episode too. But after that show got worse, I went on to 30 Rock and the Office but not watching them really exclusively. I had seen an ad for Mad Men(ironically) in GQ I think, before It came out, and I was like hmmm, looks cool, but totally forgot about it. Such a mistake! I had bought the first season on dvd before I went to Hawaii(i think) and fell in love with it. Also, putting 3 of my friends onto the show in the process. I just spent two days watching the entire second season and watched the premiere of the third last night. You have go to watch this show. It's set in 1960's in the world of advertising. Everyone's problem with the show at first is the dialogue and its slowness to really grab your attention, but you have to really give it a chance. Once you do that, you will babbling about it for at least an hour like I do. The main character, Don Draper is the creative director at Sterling Cooper advertisement. He is feared, respected, hated, envied, and above all else, a magnet for the ladies. The thing about Don that will interest him, as well as everyone really, is that you want to get to know him, but he is the most guarded on the show. Very mysterious and evasive, Don is just that guy you wish you knew everything about yet, you enjoy and are entertained by the secrecy. There are only room for surprises as the next season starts to unfold and I wish everyone could watch it. Don't be surprised if Mad Men wins best tv show at the Emmy's and at the Cookie Monster awards =]
