Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

Probably the best trailer that will have been made before the movie comes out.

this is also part 1 to a future post I plan on writing about my love for Revenge movies, even though this movie isnt all about revenge. Stay Tuned...

The Best Place To Get YO INFO

I think i've been reading Slate Magazine on and off since 07. I learned about it while taking a Journalism class to give some of us journalists some direction and also to learn about current events. I think it would benefit you folks to visit the website regularly(after mine). They tackle basically everything their is to tackle in the world. Personally, I think they are the best source of information for people who dont read newspapers and they will give you way more insight than someone writing on Yahoo or Comcast. Speaking of the writing......GREAT! haha. If a person would ever like to work in jornalism or on a online mag, they should want to write as good as the folks at Slate.com do. I was just reading it, and I was like yo, I gotta tell somebody about them. So I would advise you lovely people reading to check that out. =]

Slate.com booom

MPW:GNARLS BARKLEY

For once in my life, I will not talk too much about Danger Mouse when talking about Gnarls Barkley. There is another human being in the dynamic duo and he goes by Cee-Lo. Gnarls Barkley is probably one of the greatest acts in pop music ever if not one of the greatest acts of all time. Yes of course there is Danger Mouse, my musical idol, who creates a completely different world musically, that anyone just a bit of imagination can tap into. Personally, I do not think Gnarls Barkley's sound could be done by anyone but him. He is original and a genuine musician, and manages to make music that surpasses any pop artist you would hear on the radio. Thats why I think the Odd Couple was a little better than St. Elsewhere. They're a pop group, we all know that. They didnt try to be, but thats what happened. Every song on the Odd Couple could have been a single on the radio.

Yes, the radio is very shitty, but Gnarls Barkley could and has easily taken it over musically and also lyrically. That is where the simple but also very complex and very honest writing of Cee Lo comes in. There hasnt been anyone(in pop music) really saying things to make us think about ourselves personally since Kanye came out with All Falls Down. Cee Lo says some of the simplest things such as "Its deep how you can be shallow, and I'm afraid because I have no fear, I didnt belive in magic until I watched you disappear". Or "I dont understand, why I'm so understanding, I guess thats all I can be." When you get down to it, dude be sayin some simple shit, but it makes you wonder about yourself if you relate to what he's saying. I think if you can do that, then you're dope. Simple as that. Gnarls is THE dynamic duo. Yes there is Batman and Robin, Pharrell and Chad, Jordan and Pippen, Me and Caleb(in mario tennis) Cee-Lo and Danger... they take the cake.

Early Kanye!!!

First and foremost, look at his shirt!! I need that.

This is sooo early. I remember seeing this and thinking like nah, he aint the future of hip hop, i hate how he raps. I was in love with his beats, but if you listened to kanye like in 02 he wasnt that great. He was nice but not as good he has become. I was watching the Wood Harris one and thought, "i need to find the kanye one"

so here it is.

i'm kind of on a def poetry faze right now haha. I mean it was my favorite show on HBO so...(besides Sex and the City and the Sopranoes)

side bar: I remember hating Alls Fall Down for hella long because I was mad that he turned the poem into a song. I actually didnt know it was a song or a rap before the poem haha.

My Nigga Wood Harris

So one time I was talking to Molly and she asked me if someone made a movie about my life who would play me. I said hm...Wood Harris. She was like who is Wood Harris hahaa. I'm like, Remember The Titans? and she was like oooohh yeaaahh i like him.

Turns out, I like him too. I wish he had more roles and in these roles I wish he would play something other than a gangster or a drug dealer or something. Even tho I loved him as Ace in Paid in Full(ya'll need to watch that shit). But I swear this dude is talented. One of my goals in my film career is that if I ever make a film I will make sure he is in my movie. Here's a look at his other side. The poetic side. =]

p.s. He is my nigga, but I do not dig his outfit haha

Why Quantum of Solace Is One of the best Action Movies Ever

Long ass title but oh well. I dont expect comments on this one so I'ma write as if I'm talking to myself(which I do a lot). Now, to be honest, when I walked out of the theater after seeing Quantum of Solace: the Latest James Bond flick(shout out to Rose for seeing it with me) I got like a good ass feeling. Why? Well, If you think back to any James Bond film or Action film you've seen, I dont think you could name many who consist of great action and political awareness in one. I cant really. Most of the movie takes place in Southern America and they have power hungry dudes tryna buy up resources and rape the country along with the American governments help which has been happening for awhile not only down there but in other countries. They even have a small element in there of a dictator or a general taking over a country and being backed or rather purposely unnoticed by the American government which also has happened sooo many times and continues to happen today(see Thailand and Madagascar and other countries)

What I think is dope about this, is that the creators of the story and the movie sneaked it in but not really. They fused something political without preaching to people with intense action and good actors. I know some people have a problem with the amount of action in the movie and that as soon as it starts its action, but isnt that how almost every James Bond film starts? And personally, I think the creators had to make up for that long ass poker game in Casino Roayle haha. And to be honest, I really thought it was better than Dark Knight.......but it they are two different types of movies. But as far as action....I think it was better. People dont really talk about the miss use of the poorer countries too much and it was surprising but cool to see it kinda talked about in an action film with a majority of the cast being from better off countries. I was reading BBC News(my new source for news) and it made me think about why I liked the movie so much. I dunno thats my say. Thanks for reading whether from email or on the site itself(on the actual site would be cooler but I understand) one niggaaaas =]
