Throwback Track:Californication-Red Hot Chili Peppers

First time I ever heard of them was when I saw this video in the 7th grade and I liked em ever since. That was like 8-9 years ago? and Ironically and sadly, I dont own an album by them. Anyways, I figure this was a good Throwbacker.

Californication

Jennifer's Body

Thanks to Mike for tellin me about this like a month ago. He was like "You hear about that new movie that the writer of Juno did? Megan Fox is in it" I gave him the "oh really?" look and was like "nah, what's it about?"
He told me and then I gave him my common reaction when I hear about any horror movie "oh". hahaha She looks good, but not enough to see this shit. I figure I post it anyway.

Right Foot Forward

New video from Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. Their videos are usually pretty solid and this one shouldn't disappoint. Looking forward to Kellen James', Bobby Worrest's, and Matt Beach's parts. =]

In The Spirit Of Star Wars

For the past couple of days, Spike TV has been showing, I believe, all of the Star Wars movies. This is amazing. And luckily, I got to watch my 2nd favorite movie of all 6: Return of the Jedi yesterday. Now, back in high school, Big Brother Dart showed me this clip from the film Chasing Amy in which this pro black comic book writer drops some knowledge on what Star Wars is really about. This shit is hella funny.

"Whats a Nubian?" "SHUT THE FUCK UP" HAHAHAHAHA

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnasssus

After reading in a Vanity Fair article about how much shit director Terry Gilliam went through for this movie to get made, it made my interest jump from maybe a 20-85. Then after just watching this trailer, I really want to see it. I know all the Heath ledger fans will be on this movie's nuts but I actually want to see how Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell did when they hat to fill in to play Ledger's character after he died. That should be interesting.

Don't Worry, Be Happy?

Saw this over at BBC and I thought this was interesting.....VERY....Interesting....

Women who are optimistic have a lower risk of heart disease and death, an American study shows.

The latest study by US investigators mirrors the findings of earlier work by a Dutch team showing optimism reduces heart risk in men.

The research on nearly 100,000 women, published in the journal Circulation, found pessimists had higher blood pressure and cholesterol.

Even taking these risk factors into account, attitude alone altered risks.

Optimistic women had a 9% lower risk of developing heart disease and a 14% lower risk of dying from any cause after more than eight years of follow-up.

Making healthy choices such as not smoking and eating well, will have much more of an impact on your heart health than your outlook

Spokeswoman
British Heart Foundation
In comparison, cynical women who harboured hostile thoughts about others or were generally mistrusting of others were 16% more likely to die over the same time scale.

One possibility is that optimists are better at coping with adversity, and may, for example take better care of themselves when they do fall ill.

In the study, the optimistic women exercised more and were leaner than pessimistic peers.

Lead researcher Dr Hilary Tindle, assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, said: "The majority of evidence suggests that sustained, high degrees of negativity are hazardous to health."

A spokeswoman for the British Heart Foundation said: "We know that hostile emotions can release certain chemicals in the body which may increase the risk of heart disease, but we don't fully understand how and why.

"Optimistic or hostile attitudes can be linked to health behaviours such as smoking or poor diet, which may also influence heart health.

"A good thing for all women is that regardless of your outlook, making healthy choices such as not smoking and eating well, will have much more of an impact on your heart health than your outlook.

"More research is needed to explore how and why these psychological attitudes may affect health."

MPW:COMPANY OF THIEVES

And another one! And by another one I mean another great album of 2009 that you should listen to. Let's face it, bands with female lead singers kill just as much and sometimes even more then bands with guy lead singers. Real talk, Company of Thieves does not sound like your everyday out of Brooklyn indie or pop bad. And if you ever listen to their album Ordinary Riches you will probably agree with me. Not to mention that the writing is really good too. Honestly, you need to fux with these folks. If you don't well you will be missing out my partner.

Shout out to Mike for passing it on to me. =]
