I dont know what it is about Late Night TV but it's like they will give anyone a talk show right now. I know we've had Leno, Letterman, and Connan for awhile, and Carson(but who really stays up to watch him?) but Jimmy Fallon? and Craig Furguson? Come on now. Shit is not funny man. I'm sorry. I could probably have a talk show if my man Craig Furguson has one. Ah yes, and there is also the trouble of the D.L. Hugley talk show. HMMM kind of the same material he's been doing for years. Chelsea Lately, she's aight, I cant really stand to look at her for too long haha. Bonny Hunt in the day time??? I remember seeing her show and I was like why does she even have a show? She's not fucking with Ellen, Ophra, or Tyra,or Rachel Ray. I swear they will put anybody on TV. Lets not even get into the NBA/NFL analysts who the same old shit every season. Charles is funny, but Magic, Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, JAMAL MASHBURN?????? Coooome on, I bet there are people who would love to be on ESPN or NBC or CBS who are way more entertaining but for some reason, some person is picking these not so funny people to be on TV. And you wonder why I forever watch movies.

If i did have a show, my band would be Jerry and Steve cause I could talk to them on the side and shit and they'd be funnier than me. =]

Throwback Track: Smells Like Teen Spirit-Nirvana

Ok, there are two reasons why I picked this song for the Throwback Track. One, because this song is dope and was dope back when it came out. Second, because certain people secretly and openly think I listen or "rock out" to soft shit. Whatever. I've fucked with Nirvana since a girl named Erica Busby in my Sophomore english clash was clowning me for taste in rock. She let me borrow one of their albums(dont remember which one) And that same year Caleb let me borrow their greatest hits, then that summer, Danny burned it for me. I may listen to a lot of indie and alternative rock, but I still fuck with the older and classic rock too. Dont get it twisted.

One big difference between being a journalism major and being a film studies major are the people. Really different folks in both majors and professions probably. So I had the luxury of meeting Jessica in my video production class. She had the most, original and different style than anyone in the whole class. Experimental is like an understatement, this girl be on some other shit haha. But in a good way. Here's a video she just showed me, I like it. Last Year, there was this huge occurrence happening in Los Angeles and in Hip Hop. You could almost call it a movement the way it just came about. Out of nowhere, you've got all these acts coming out of LA and bringing back hip hop to the west coast. A year or two before this, LA hip hop was really limited to Stones Throw Records run with Madlib, OH NO, J Dilla(originally from Detroit) M.E.D. and other artist like Giant Panda, People Under the Stairs, Murs, and Dilated Peoples but the sound between them and new up and comers like Blu, Pac Div, J*Davey,Diz Graban Exile, were kind of different. One Person that stood out to me was/is Dom Kennedy(besides Blu of course)Charismatic, Patterns that most rappers dont use, smooth, original. He had a mixtape out last year called 25th hour which included the new summer anthem "Watermelon Sundae" but this year, he took it up a couple notches with his mixtape/album "Future Streets/Drug Sounds" and I have to say its fucking ill. Its definitely some LA shit, like it has that sound to it. Already in my top ten hip hop albums this year, who knows, it my be in my top ten of the year period but we will see. Unless you have like a program that opens "rar" files, I would say to stay away form downloading it because is hard as shit to open. But here's one of my favs from the album and Watermelon Sundae =]

Three songs in, and I'm getting happy over here. Oh no, I'm not talking about the Francis Young LP,I'm speaking on my 2nd project with the homie Dave aka I-AM. If you have followed my music you will know that Dave, Jerry, and I were once known as Foreign Tongues. We were good together but Jerry stepped away from rapping and basically hip hop all together, I dont like my voice when I rap and I like the music part better so that really left Dave to hold the mic down.

After some months of not having a laptop and not really being in touch with Dave, Steve loaned/gave me an extra microphone, an interface, and a program. I called Dave and said "I'm bringing you back" and he said "Let's Go" Really, the album is a continuation of the Death Burial Resurrection EP or LP that Jerry and I were producing but this go around, the album is being produced all by me. =] So far we've got three songs done and Steve is helping engineering and mixing the songs. I think they(Dave and Steve) are doing a separate project. BUUUUT Hopefully, we can get this finished by the end of the year and put it out for the people.

Revenge of the Fallen

I just want to say that I'm ecstatic about the Lakers being in the finals again. I wont lie, the only team I feared was the Denver Nuggets and I was hoping that they would lose but they beat Portland. Now looking at it, I'm glad the Lakers played them because I think it made them a better team for the playoffs. I'm not taking nothing away from the Magic but I dont think they would have beaten the Nuggets if they would have beat the Lakers. And frankly, I'm not worried for my boys. Yes, the Magic have the most dominant center in the league and they got some shooters, but if the Lakers play as a team like they did the last two games against the Nuggets, Kobe should be able to get his ring. I'm sad for Lebron though. I really like the dude and he is the future of basketball, but I guess I'm feeling like how Jay-Z felt when he said "I got now, I dont care who got next". Well more importantly, the Lakers should feel that way haha. Kobe, Ariza, Pau, Odom, Fish, Bynum; they got this shit.
