I Feel the Pressure

If I haven't told any of you that I'm working on an album with my friend and one of my favorite rappers at the moment, then I'm sorry. Well no, let me take that back. I'm not sorry. haha. I've been kind of keeping it under wraps. At first, i wasn't telling nooobody, because I was(and still am) super focused on this project and I just rather not talk about it. But now that its almost done(80%) and we're putting the tracks together and shit, the pressure is getting to me. Anthony Short aka Youngs, is a very talented emcee and songwriter. The man came to my 20th birthday party and killed it. We fuckin performed a song or two we did together. SOOO FUN. He has a good fan base where he's from(St Louis) and where he lives and goes to school(Normal, Illinois. 2 hours south of Chicago.) Ever since I started making music, my dream was to produce a whole album. I wanted/want to be like Dangermouse and tell people "I don't do tracks, I kinda do whole albums". (He told Cee-Lo that before they started St. Elsewhere.) So really, this is one of my dreams come true. And I'm happy to be doing it with a Great Friend and Artist.

Sometimes being a perfectionist is good and bad. My boy Danny is a perfectionist when it comes to photography. My friend Larisa(Rocky) is perfectionist when it comes to drawing sketches for clothes. ME, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to producing a whole album! haha Its been crazy. There have been songs we've done that were dooope. I'm tellin you. But when I got them back I found something wrong with it. 100% of the time it was something with the beat, so it was my fault, and Youngs is easy going guy so he prolly wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't said anything. I made myself go back and make whole new beats just for one song. Chopped different samples, used different drums, melodies, instruments. I have worked my ass off! I just now, finished the beat for the intro, I went through maybe.....5 different sequences for one 2 minute beat. haha. Like daaaamn. But if you want to make the best shit you can make, you gotta make sure shit is perfect. I've shown some people some songs and they've been impressed mostly. I'm planning to debut a song on the blog soon, but its not done yet. I'm currently listening to the beat as I type. Its the best beat I made for the whole thing haha. NO SAMPLES EITHER haha. I'm really hoping this shit goes far and I hope YOU, my readers, will support a brotha on this. Its called the Francis Young LP. Its a album based on a character he and I(mostly he) created. Sort of like Lupe Fiasco's The Cool. haha. In the mean time, go check YOUNGS. Two of the tracks we did are on his page. "Francis Young" and "Dirty Blonds,Lovely Brunettes" produced by yours truly. HOLD ME DOWN YO!
