What are the Old Soul Instrumentals???

Ok so, first and foremost, an instrumental is a piece of music without any vocals or clear vocals, meaning, all you're hearing is music. In every genre of music, there is a small section of instrumental music, whether it's rock, hip hop, mostly jazz, r&b, soul, funk, everything. The idea for the Old Soul Instrumentals project or beat tape or whatever you choose to dub it, came along in the second half of last year after two other projects w/ two different artists fell through. After being rather distraught, I figured I'd release another instrumental project and call it Stepping into Tomorrow after the song by Donald Byrd and because I felt like instead of being down, I wanted to take a step forward musically. I didn't want to at first because in 2008 I put out A Romantic Comedy, another instrumental project which everyone who listens to my music liked and loved I guess, but I'm sure I didn't get to reach as many people as I wanted and I didn't like that. The initial plan was to make 30 beats(which I actually did) and pick and choose which ones where the best and then let only very close friends hear it and send it to labels who put out instrumental artists. At this time I was starting to become, more than ever, highly influenced by all forms of jazz music, instrumental soul(stuff you hear in like Oceans 11)and psychedelic rock bands of the 60's and 70's. The music started coming out as like ode's to those genre's and I decided to call it the Old Soul. So this project is for my friends who are old souls(like 90%)it's something for you to listen to in your car, while you're cleaning your room or dorm room, something to show your parents, something to listen to while you do homework, eat ice cream, read my blog =] and whatever else. I am a super unknown musician but it's cool for the time being, and I want to thank those of you who still ask me about my music. If you liked A Romantic Comedy then you'll like this. However, it's very very different and also way better. The whole thing should be available for download(free) hopefully in late April or early May. Can't wait to put it out =]Thanks for reading. Sorry it's long...
